Many studies show the benefits of omega 3 in helping protect adult eyes from conditions like macular degeneration, dry eyes, and glaucoma.

The risk of developing significant macular degeneration decreases by 30-50% in those people who have significant omega-3 intake compared to those that don’t. In a study on 32,000 women aged 45-84 those eating fish at least twice a week had significantly lower levels of dry eyes, as did those with the lowest omega 6/6 ratios. Omega 3 can help with the drainage of intraocular fluid and thus help to reduce the risk of high eye pressure and glaucoma.
