Why is Spinach Good for My Eyes?
Spinach has some great benefits to your eye health. Many of our Gold Coast patients ask about why spinach is good for their eyes. This green leafy vegetable contains Lutein and Zeaxanthin which have been shown to prevent cataracts and macular degeneration, and improve visual performance and reduce sensitivity to glare. Alongside this, spinach is a good source of Beta-Carotene which may protect against night blindness and dry eyes.
This week we are sharing with you a recipe we found for a Banana, Chia and Spinach Smoothie. We hear all the time from our patients they love smoothies! This one looks amazing and tastes delicious. Along with the goodness of the spinach, it is also great for your eyes due to the other ingredients, including chia seeds.
